This information affects only the Mac OS X and iOS applications, not the website itself. For more information about the website is handling privacy please see the imprint.
Your privacy is critically important to us therefore all data loaded by Favs app will by default only be saved locally on your device!
Online services which aggregate your social network information have access to your data and you need to trust them. Favs instead communicates directly with those internet services like Google, Facebook, Twitter and so on. It is as secure as browsing on the services with Safari.
These specifications only affect the handling of data within the Favs app. Please note that each web service you access has it's own Privacy Policy, which may be more important to know if you have concerns about your privacy!
Credentials you provide to access those services are saved in an encrypted form in the Apple Operation Systems Keychain. For services supporting OAuth or XAuth (like Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc.) we don't even store the password but only a so called auth token which only allows our app to access certain information. We try to not request more priviledges than we need for our app. You can easyly revoke these authorizations on the services web sites if needed.
The collected data from your services is saved locally on your device in a database file. This file is not encrypted or otherwise protected. Since it is placed on your computer in your users account you are responsible for it like for any other file on your device.
Synchronization of your data between multiple devices is an optional feature. If you use it we will have to send your data to the Apple iCloud Service. We will not send credentials though. For syncing status of articles we will also only send unique identification tokens which don't allow access to your private information.
Note: New versions of Favs may introduce new features wich will require updates of the privacy handling. We will inform you about this in the update info of the app but we encourage you to take a look into this page from time to time.
